Simple...
They're push-buttons, that make them giggle.

1. They're for decoration only. Like the portholes on a 57 T-Bird.
2. So we can trade off on the nipple clamps.
3.

It's because the fetus had not decided that gender to take...and it creates a 'generic' body which could be a girl or a boy later on (but it looks more like a girl). So the nipples are put in place in case is a girl. Then when the gender is finally decided (I don't know how) the testosterone make other things change for a boy...
I guess the DNA cells that decide the gender come up in play a few days later after the basic body is created...

In other words, in some time in the remote past, we men, were girls LOL

Ah the scientific answer, thanks!

I believe that the male sperm is responsible for determining the gender of the baby, but that would be ...... where in the timeline of gestation? I know not.

Fetussss, Feti (what is the plural of that word?) also have tails at one point, don't they?

HI, by the way, I'm Melly :)

Hi Melly...I'm Nelson. I got to your journal by reading a common friend of ours.

And I don't know how to say the plural of that word...

And did you say tail? I know we have more bones when babies...because the bones in the coxis (sp?) are separated and as we grow they become one... but I don't know about a tail :P

Are you JW too?

Hi Nelson.

Yes, I heard somewhere that at a certain point in the gestation process it appears that we have 'tails', but I am pretty sure it is because of what you mentioned - the extra bones.

JW - yes.
